In February 2007 we adopted a new family member, Houdini, and everyone fell in love with him. A couple of months later in April, God blessed us with our second granddaughter Madison and they instantly became best of friends.

The first picture shows Houdini saying his first ‘hello’ to me at our local animal shelter – I just knew he would be going home with me.  I have never regretted that decision.  The only problem was cleaning up all of those white hairs, and believe me, there were white hairs on everything.

The second picture shows Madison riding Houdini, which she did every time she visited us.  I think he enjoyed it as much as she did.  God certainly knew what He was doing when He allowed Houdini to become one of our family.

For the past few months Houdini has been experiencing some very serious health issues.  I guess that happens in all of our lives as the years go by and we know Houdini was approaching at least 11 years of age in human terms.  This past weekend his health really turned for the worse and we knew it would not be long till he went to “‘Dog Heaven”.

Yesterday afternoon Houdini made that final journey and is now having a good time running and playing with Tigger, Pooh, Sage, Ali and others he is meeting for the first time.  I love you Houdini and hated to see you leave, but I know you are no longer in pain, and for that I am grateful.  I believe when I get to Heaven, Houdini will be among my family welcoming me there.
